In short, schools spend much less on e-students than on those who live and matriculate on campus. Universities and colleges can earn high profit margins on e-courses because a vast majority of the classroom sessions are taped and can be viewed at any time. That's primarily because class scheduling is highly flexible, most programs are self-paced, and you can do homework whenever it fits into your work week, assuming you hold a job while you're in school. There's no question about one fact in that e-degrees offer the best work-life balance situation possible. If you struggle to define balance in your life, this will surely help you. This is especially helpful for current college grads who want to get their MBA, JD, or other specialty degrees to qualify for high-paying jobs. Working through a private lender, most prospective pupils can obtain enough money to pay for all degree-related expenses, take advantage of competitive rates, and get access to suitable repayment terms. If your educational goals include an advanced degree, it's worth looking into private graduate student loans. Check accreditation status, read reviews from former students, and call the admissions office to inquire about how to apply. However, it is still imperative to check the credentials of any institution before making any payments. In fact, many of the world's top universities and colleges offer both in-person and distance curricula. Non-traditional methods of earning degrees, primarily via computer-based courses, are fully legitimate. Even if your clients start as strangers, many lawyers find that they develop lasting relationships with people from all different walks of life over time. There are moments when your client will need you to be their guardian – ready to reassure them – but there are other times when they need you to be their judge – weighing how strong a case they have against a prosecution team. It's an essential blend of independence and intimacy. The lawyer-client relationship is an interesting one. The variety makes it interesting enough that it doesn't get boring however, since most people don't stay in this profession long-term, it also means that you have to keep yourself open for new challenges and changes in the law.Ĥ) You'll Have Plenty Of People To Talk To And Interact With It is like working at a restaurant: some nights, you might be closing up shop, and other nights you might be partying with celebrities. You could work alongside one team as they fight to recover large amounts of money on behalf of their clients and then get hired by someone else to maintain their privacy while doing it. This can mean that you defend corporations or individuals in fights regarding employment law or personal injury. No matter what your client's specific legal needs are, you're there to serve them to the best of your ability. But either way, it heartens everyone watching when the accused has someone in their corner, fighting for them. Sometimes it's because they think that person had no reason to do what was alleged of them other times, it's because they knew them personally before arrest. When someone is put on trial for a crime they didn't commit, there is always one person who stands up to defend them. You might have seen this happen in movies. Microsoft thought gamepad-first was a good idea in Flight and it obviously didn't work out well for them. and you can get a pretty decent joystick without spending a fortune. Flying with a gamepad doesn't feel like flying to me (I at least need a throttle that doesn't center itself) even flying with a mouse is better. I don't like the argument that a game has to be playable on a gamepad to be successful. I backed their kickstarter but it failed, sadly. Landing on the carrier after surviving a tough mission was always thrilling. My favorite combat flight sim ever was Hellcats over the Pacific, which was a pretty good blend of a flight model with simplified controls. That's not very fun you just fly in circles all day because it won't let you do any aerobatics besides a basic loop or roll. I couldn't get War Thunder to run properly on my computer, but a lot of the casual flight games I have tried are too casual for me, with flight models that can't model a stall or a convincing takeoff/landing you can only go fast/slow or boost. The planes should have rather realistic performance characteristics, the weapons should be sensible enough (and intuitive to operate), but the setting should be fictional and rather bonkers.īy bonkers I imagine things like a gamemode where you've got two teams with giant flying aircraft carriers that act as spawnpoints, and the objective is to destroy the enemy carrier by targeting specific subsystems. What I envision is an online fighter jet game, a sort of "Counter-Strike with planes" that takes many cues from real combat aviation, but keeps things simple and intuitive. Not to mention that Oculus themselves chose a space combat game to show off CC. I think I'm pointing out the obvious here, as cockpits have been shown to be ideal settings for seated VR. However, with the recent popularity of War Thunder and the arrival of VR headsets, I think that more casual flightsims could be making a comeback.
It took me a while to figure out that there was a theme to the page 2/3 spread. The green area around the page does nothing but take up space and make it harder to keep the color even on press. The coupon on the back cover reads “Welcome New Customers.” If this is a prospect catalog, I would recommend an annotated table of contents on the back cover. If Delphi hasn’t done some testing to determine the optimal number of items and elements to have on the back cover, I would strongly advise they do that. So the more you add, the less impact each has. Each element you add to a page competes with every other element and they all lose importance. Perhaps one or more of the callouts could be eliminated, which would help elevate one of the more important messages.Īs for the back cover (see page 22 for image), there is just too much going on for anyone to comfortably shop. So the logo should be with the corporate positioning statement, and the “Annual Bevel Sale” should be with the bevels being sold. The best way to resolve this is to take all the elements on the page, rank them by importance and then group them by concept. There are just too many random elements on Delphi’s cover to ever produce a targeted message. The difference between an okay catalog and a great catalog that really sells is often clarity of the message. Not all customers will take the time to read it. Prospects will look at Delphi’s cover, see “Annual Bevel Sale!” and then a big wad of type that looks like all the stuff the marketing folks thought should be on the cover but was hard to fit. Showing the process is both attention getting and a quick read that you are selling glass supplies. Prospective customers respond well to covers showing items being created. You can never go wrong with beauty shots of spectacular pieces. Hobbyists are passionate, and they love looking at beautiful examples of their hobby. Starting from the cover, the image used looks more like an industrial grinder than one of the remarkable finished glass pieces shown inside. The Delphi catalog is a good example of this phenomenon, something I call “death by a thousand cuts.” It seems oddly appropriate for a glass catalog. Unless we make a point to step back and forget our pre-conceptions, we all go blind to our catalogs - and the result is a slow erosion of sales, especially with prospects. One of the biggest challenges faced by veteran catalogers is looking at their book with fresh eyes so they can see what the customer really sees. Our creative experts, Sarah Fletcher, president/creative director of Catalog Design Studios, and Neal Schuler, principal of Schuler Creative Consulting, reviewed Delphi’s 64-page spring 2011 edition. The company sells more than 30,000 items through its catalog and website, targeting both beginners and expert glass artists. Giving Assistant is a great way to shop and be charitable at the same time. From a handful of items sold from a garage in 1972, Delphi has grown to become the largest supplier of art glass materials in the U.S. With many beginner kits in areas such as bead making and enameling, you can easily purchase everything needed to learn a new craft in no time. If you are a beginner, you are in the right place. Delphi offers top brand names like Mastercraft and Fireworks. From the Peace In A World of Turmoil to the Eight-Pointed Star, you will find stunning pieces of finished artwork that will spark your imagination. Look through the artist gallery and enjoy beautiful works by other artist. From green diamond bevel to a box of amber bevel, from daisy tiles to mosaic block, just viewing the large inventory of possibilities is sure to inspire your creative juices. Whether you are making jewelry, mosaic, stained glass art or working on fusing, you will find the supplies you need. They price their inventory to be highly competitive, and you can use discount coupons to help make your purchase wallet-friendly. The Delphi Company offers art glass project materials that are perfect for the artist, or the new craftsman. Located in Lansing, they pride themselves on longevity due to great products, craft materials and customer support. Elsewhere on Certified Lover Boy, Drake appears to reference his less splashy but seemingly just as contentious beef with Swizz Beatz. It’s also not the only song on the album that contains aggressive bars towards another rapper. And he thinks that Kanye has lost his grip musically and hates that Drake still has it: “It’s been a lot of years since we seen you comin correct” “If we talkin top three, then you been slidin’ to third like stolen bases.” Drake sounds positively disgusted at the thought that their album releases could even go head to head with lines like “You over there in denial, we not neck and neck.” He also always makes sure to be dismissive of Kanye’s fashion ambitions (probably because he knows that’s really hitting Kanye where it hurts), here saying “I could give a fuck about who designing your sneakers and tees/Have somebody put you on a Gildan, you play with my seed.” (Gildan tees are the blanks Kanye prints most of his merch on.) Drake complains that Kanye tries to move the goalposts- “Lettin’ me take the rap for that Casper the Ghost shit/While you findin’ all of the loopholes'' alludes to Pusha’s gripe about Drake’s history of using songwriters, even as West clearly takes all the help he can get when he puts an album together these days. “7AM” covers a lot of the same ground Drake typically treads when he goes at Kanye. The song starts off with the lines “Secretly beefin me behind closed doors/But playin it peacefully for the streets to see/My n-gga have some decency/Don’t move like a puto.” From there, it’s not hard to read between the lines. So the song “7AM On Bridle Path”-which is the Toronto neighborhood where Drake resides-which references tense texts, an address post, and driving with “emotions racing” sure seems to imply he recorded it in response to this latest chapter of their beef, maybe even that very night.ĭrake doesn’t name names, but he also doesn’t mince words from the jump. The next night he posted (and later deleted) Drake’s home address in Toronto, Drake seemingly responded by posting video of himself laughing in his car. On August 20, Drake jabbed at West on Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal.” West responded by sharing a group text thread railing against “nerd ass jocks” coming at him-he added Pusha T to the conversation and many people assumed the name D in the thread was Drake himself. By contrast, even though things have once again gotten testy between Drake and West for the better part of the last month, Drake’s new album Certified Lover Boy only has one song that is blatantly full of shots. Inevitably, Scorpion was littered with not-so-subliminal disses on songs clearly (and later confirmed as much by Drake) written, recorded and added in response to the situation. When Drake dropped his last album Scorpion, it came a full month after his beef with Pusha T-and, by extension, Kanye West-exploded.
Whatever Koch has in store for us, we will just have to be patient. Then there's TimeSplitters, which being a no-show isn't too much of a shock considering it was just announced back in May as being in early development. We can wait.Īs far as what 4A games have been developing, only it knows for sure, but it would be nice to hear what the Metro studio has been up to. Then there's Dead Island 2, which is still in development, but there's been no word regarding it either. Well, it's 2021 and we haven't heard a peep. Koch's parent company THQ Nordic announced in August 2019 a new SR game was in the works and that we would hear more about it in 2020. Porsche told dealers to expect a remedy to be in place by December Autoblog has reached out for further clarification of the details. Whether Porsche will simply eliminate the feature entirely or decrease its activation sensitivity was not immediately clear from its filing. Whether the safety system itself ultimately functions properly or not, the unexpected activation of the hazards is out-of-spec per federal motor vehicle safety standards, meaning Porsche has no choice but to fix the software. I know explicitly that in classes on letter design it has happened that students were told, 'You can take an existing font and change it in your direction.' In this way they only distort other shapes. "For a large number of years now they haven't been teaching calligraphy at Bezalel at all, whereas when I was studying the number of hours of calligraphy was the same as for graphics. In an interview published in Haaretz (in Hebrew) in 2006 on the occasion of his winning the Emet Prize, Narkis too expressed his regret at the decline of the art of calligraphy and the damage caused to the world of fonts. I don't know any designer today who concentrates for three years on designing a font." Designing a font has to take several years, not a month and not one year. "In contrast to the designers of today, what is interesting in his case is that he very quickly concentrated on designing letters.
